Drzewina

Her story began at the famous Arabian horse stud in Michałów, where she spent the first years of her life. Later she ended up at the Służewiec racecourse — a place full of adrenaline, speed and competitive pressure. That is probably where she suffered serious injuries to her hind limbs. When she stopped winning, it was decided to use her for breeding. Her job became enduring pain and bringing one foal after another into the world. Despite her earlier injuries, she was put back under the saddle. She couldn't cope — her body had had enough.

It was in this exhausted state that she came to Ktosiowo. We took her in to make up for her hard life and to make sure she would spend her final years with dignity, in peace and without pain.

Drzewina is an exceptional mare: gentle, sensitive, remarkably intelligent and longing for affection. This beautiful Arabian loves being brushed calmly, having her neck scratched for a long time and the company of someone speaking to her in a gentle voice. Today Drzewina is over 20 years old and, for the first time in ages, she doesn't have to fear pressure or new demands. She has her own place and caring attention — and now she needs only one thing: the certainty that someone will love her.
