Jantar

Jantar is an exceptional horse with a calm heart and beautiful, deep eyes that show both sensitivity and a quiet curiosity about the world. He came to our foundation emaciated, badly neglected, with hooves ruined by years of shoeing and hard work. His life before Ktosiowo was hard, exhausting and devoid of care. Jantar worked on the route to Morskie Oko.

Imagine his daily life: a scorching summer, tarmac heated to 40 degrees, a heavy load, metal in his mouth that hurt him. To this day Jantar has a large scar on his tongue. A frightened look, a whip above his head, a cough after exertion. That was his reality. Like many horses from that route, Jantar was destined for the slaughterhouse. We managed to save him and change his fate.

From his very first days in Ktosiowo he showed that, despite his traumatic experiences, he could still trust people — he just needed time, quiet and gentleness. The beginning was hard, because the mere touch of a human hand filled him with fear. But step by step Jantar began to understand that he is safe with us.

Today, after several beautiful, peaceful years, he lives alongside his horse family. Together they run across the pastures, together they poke their noses into the hay racks, together they rest. Jantar finally has what he always needed — freedom and safety. He is a horse who never imposes himself. But when someone gives him time and patience, Jantar opens up and shows his true nature — remarkably gentle, affectionate and special.
