Węgielek

Węgielek was abandoned at our sanctuary. It was late in the evening when we heard a quiet kitten’s cry in the dark. He was hard to find – only after a while did two little eyes light up in the torchlight. The little one was only about 4–6 weeks old. From the very first moments Ivan took care of Węgielek – he kept him warm, slept beside him and watched over him like a big brother. Today Węgielek is a grown tomcat, though he can still fall asleep snuggled up to Ivan, just as he did when he was tiny.
He is a cat who values peace and quiet and a full tummy. He has an exceptionally charming miaow, which he uses to beg for food – with a grace that is hard to refuse. He is as dark as the night (his name means “Little Coal”) and loves hiding in equally dark corners. He often seems to have vanished, only for you to discover a moment later that he is simply asleep on a black cushion, blending into the background like a true master of camouflage.
