Cygan

Cygan – a little horse in a big body with an even bigger heart.
He was born in the mountains. When he came into the world he was completely black — which is how he got the name Cygan. Over time, though, he turned grey, and today he is our beloved, majestic grey.
All his life he worked for people, pulling a carriage full of tourists around Warsaw's Old Town. He passed from hand to hand, but despite the hardships he remained the very picture of calm and gentleness. His former owner, the late Mr Krzyś, taught him to eat… sweets. And although it's not exactly a horsey habit, Cygan still loves food more than anything — it is the greatest love of his life.
Only once he came to the foundation did it become clear how deeply his many years of work and the weight of his own body had marked him — joint degeneration came to light, something he had been living with for a long time. Here he could finally slow down, rest and feel what life is like without pain and rushing. At the foundation he found what he had always needed: calm, safety, love and a real horse's life.
Today he is our biggest horse — literally and figuratively.
