Frodo (bob0)

Frodo, whom we affectionately call Frodo Bobo, came to Ktosiowo as a colt not yet a year old. An animal welfare association asked us to take him in – he arrived together with the mare Frezja, who has since found an adoptive home. Frodo, however, stayed and straight away started a small revolution of his own. Born in 2022, this cold-blooded horse will grow into a true giant. He already has an impressive build, though he is completely unaware of it. He is slowly starting to turn grey, and his transformation will probably take a few more years. We can't wait to see it, because he promises to become a beautiful “XXL grey”. The early days with Frodo… well. They were interesting. The youngster had the energy of a foal who had suddenly been given the whole world to play in. You could tell that he had never been able to move freely before – he galloped as if he were discovering his own legs all over again, learning agility, turns and stops. Clumsiness full of charm.
At the sanctuary he immediately made friends with Veronika – they are a similar age, so they could get up to mischief to their hearts' content. It was with her that Frodo discovered you can run, play and fool around, and that the world is much bigger than he had thought. Today Frodo is gelded, which means he can safely live in a mixed herd with the mares. He behaves better and better during treatments – the little rascal has grown into a fairly cooperative young man. In his own style, of course, which is “kind of yes, kind of not sure”. He is adorable: a wavy mane, beautiful curls, long eyelashes… and yet he can still step on your foot, completely oblivious to his own size. Frodo isn't trying to be naughty – he just really wants to be close, and on top of that he doesn't notice that he keeps getting heavier. Despite his lack of grace and that slow, cold-blooded clumsiness of his, Frodo is loving, curious and devoted. At Ktosiowo he is growing up, gaining self-confidence and learning a life he never had before.
