Mewa

Mewa, Amber's younger companion, born in 2022, is a bay mare with a black mane and a tiny star on her forehead. Together with Amber she makes up a duo so close that it's hard to tell them apart… because Mewa hardly ever leaves Amber's side. As soon as they arrived from the market, it was clear that Mewa desperately needed closeness – as if without it the world were too big and too loud.

Perhaps she was a foal taken from her mother too early?

Perhaps that is why today she seeks safety so strongly with the older mare?

Sometimes she seems as if she can't see very well, but perhaps her self-confidence is simply still growing – slowly, cautiously. When Amber walks, Mewa follows her. When Amber rests, Mewa stands right beside her. It is a beautiful, touching horse friendship. Like Amber, she can't stand being confined. A stable? Being shut in? Definitely not for her. Life under a field shelter, freedom, space – that is what gives her peace. Things get harder when people want something from her – because Mewa has fallen in love with her new life so much that she has no wish whatsoever to go back to any “duties”. We have a lot of work ahead of us, gentle and patient – exactly the kind Mewa needs most.

She defers to Amber and doesn't look for conflict. There is something soft and trusting in her eyes, though still shy. She is a mare who is easy to love – because with her kindness and gentleness Mewa is like a lost child who is only just learning that the world can be good.
