Adaś

Adaś came to our foundation when he was just 8 months old, straight from the horse market in Skaryszew – one of the places from which many animals go straight to slaughter. That day we were there to check the conditions in which the animals were being kept. That was when we saw Adaś – the only horse so young, delicate and hot-blooded among the heavy cold-blooded horses. It was clear at first glance that he didn’t fit in with the rest. Adaś had lost his mother at birth and had been raised by people. He was also clearly undernourished, anaemic and suffering from a severe upper respiratory tract infection.
Thanks to the immediate, wholehearted response of the empathetic donors of the Fundacja Instytut Empatii (Empathy Institute Foundation), the money to buy him out was raised in no time and passed on to us – and that is how Adaś became one of our animals. Together with Amber and Mewa – two mares who took him under their wing like mothers from the very start – he came to Ktosiowo. They were the ones who taught him calm, a sense of safety and life in a herd.
Today Adaś enjoys a life he might never have had – warm, peaceful and full of love. He is curious, energetic and cheerful, and at the same time he is learning to trust both people and the herd that has become his true home. Adaś loves being stroked, he is adorable and moves beautifully – after all, he is an Arabian. He may not have papers, but to us he is still the best of the best.
